About Mantua Girls Home/Maple Hill
| This 331 acre property is located in the secluded Mantua Valley on the east side of the Wasatch Mountains about two miles southwest of the town of Mantua, Utah. The property is situated at an elevation which is considerably above the valley floor so that the entire valley, including the town of Mantua, are clearly visible from the camp. It is about a 15 minute drive from Brigham City to the camp. A private unpaved mountain road leads to the camp from a US Forest Service campground near the base of the mountain (see map). Access to the camp is controlled by a locked gate situated part of the way up the road. At present, sewage disposal restrictions limit the total number of campers to relatively small groups of about 60. However, it is planned that a new sewer system to serve the camp will be installed during the summer of 2008. The camp contains two campsites, namely, Mantua Girls Home and Maple Hill. These two sites are described briefly under the heading "Campgrounds at Mantua Girls Home/Maple Hill."

Reservation Choices
It is possible for a group to reserve either the entire camp consisting of the Girls Home and Maple Hill campsites, or to reserve only one of the two campsites. A description of each campsite is found under the heading of Campgrounds. You can specify your choice of campsite either on the letter of confirmation or by calling the camp schedulers, David or Yvonne Forsgren at 435-279-8440 (h) or 801-279-4485 (c).Payment Information
1. PAYMENTS - A reservation deposit of $50 is required for all users. The deposit is to be paid within 21 days of placing the reservation or the reservation will not be held. If the camp is left in a suitable condition after use, the reservation deposit will be applied to the use fee. The resrvation fee will not be refunded if the group does not show up at the camp as scheduled or if the reservation is cancelled less than 21 days prior to the scheduled use date. All checks should be made to “Mantua Girls Home/Maple Hill Camp." Include reservation number, date of reservation, stake and ward affiliation if the reservation is for a church-sponsored function, or family name or group affiliation if the reservation is not church sponsored. 2. CAMP FEES - A list of camp fees and usage fees for different groups and for specific camp facilities at the Maple Hill site(pavilion, amphitheater, etc.), and for the Mantua Girls Home site may be obtained by contacting the camp schedulers David or Yvonne Forsgren by telephone at 435-279-8440 or by e-mail at forsgren13@msn.com. Note that the Mantua Girls Home site always includes the lodge or home. |
